Corona – What changes for packaging and design?

Our “Packaging of the Month” is one that, so far, exists only on paper, so to speak. And it will almost certainly remain that way—at least in its current form, since this version is virtually impossible to physically realize. Implementing the Barca Napoletana concept would involve far too much effort. In the following, we’ll first present the packaging idea, which is undoubtedly extremely well-executed but hasn’t been fully thought through or considered holistically. That’s why we’ll take a critical look at the structural problems of the boat-shaped metal can for canned fish.

Berlin's Spätis have long since shed their image as purely functional shops on the corner. For many residents of the German capital, they've become as much a part of everyday life as the subway, the post-midnight snack stand, or the beer on the curb. Newcomers to the metropolis often take a while to grasp what makes these places so special: a Späti is a kiosk, a mini-supermarket, a meeting point, a supply station, a social space, and a cultural stage — and not infrequently all of these at once.
