As in Germany, the Christian faith is widespread in Brazil. Accordingly, Easter is the second most important religious holiday there after Christmas. The impressive images of the colorful carnival parades that traditionally mark the beginning of Lent, which in turn ends punctually at Easter, show year after year that the Brazilian people know how to celebrate with passion like hardly any other nation.
